April 26-27: NY/NJ Style Workshop at KIHA

Sk8 Ambitions presents a FREE workshop for intermediate & advanced skaters. This workshop is included in your entry fee to KIHA! Elevate your skills by learning to skate in duos, trios, and trains, with our members this weekend. Donations welcome, no partner needed! Come Day 1 to master the footwork and Day 2 to create a routine! Click here to register for the class!

April 27: CIB Oʻahu Skate Park Meetup at AMR Skate Park

Skate park skaters! Shred into spring with CIB Oʻahu this month! Whether you are an intermediate/advanced skater who wants to find a solid crew to skate and hang out with, or if you are new to skate parks and want to learn, join them for the experience. The last meetup of the month starts at 10am on April 27 and takes place at Aliamanu Military Reservation (AMR) Skate Park. No military ID required to enter or participate, and this meetup is free and open to all wheels, ages, genders, and skill levels.

 

April 27: RNB Skate Night at KIHA

You asked, Sk8 Ambitions listened!  RNB Skate Night is back on Sunday, April 27! Join Sk8 Ambitions at KIHA Public Skating for an unforgettable night of smooth vibes, good company, and your favorite R&B hits on wheels. DJ AYO GENO and Marino the Funky DJ Ninja will be in the mix for you to skate until management shuts the party down! 17 and over welcome!

May 4: 808 HI Rollers O'ahu and SkateIA present Learn To Skate!

Just got some new skates and want to learn how to use them? Already know how to somewhat roll forward but need help turning and stopping? Want to learn how to safely fall and get up? This beginners class is great for skaters age 5 and older, and is a good way to learn the basics of skating.

  • Sunday, May 4, at the covered parking lot at 340 Uluniu St (please park on-street; metered parking is free on Sundays)
  • Open Skate from 3pm-4pm
  • Learn to Skate Classes from 4pm-5pm

May 4: May The Fourth: A Star Wars Roller Derby Bout

Evading the dreaded black team, the white team has established a new secret base on the new remote hockey rink in Mililani. The evil team, obsessed with outjamming the white team, have dispatched their skaters into the far reaches of O’ahu.

Join Pacific Roller Derby for an afternoon of Star Wars themed roller derby featuring LudoSport Hawai'i - Sporting Light Saber Combat Academy ! Come out to take pictures, dress up, and celebrate May the 4th with PRD! The league has not put on our Star Wars bout in a few years, and their skaters are so looking forward to this!

 

May 17: Pacific Roller Derby Presents Drag King & Burlesque Show

Hosted by the always fabulous Wang Chungs Karaoke Bar, Pacific Roller Derby hopes to see you on May 17 for an evening of cross dressing fun! Check out skaters’ creativity center stage and consider throwing a tip their way! Your donations help PRD keep local roller derby free for the community year round.

Doors open at 7pm, and the show starts at 7:30pm. It's a $10 entry fee, and proceeds benefit Pacific Roller Derby!

Pacific Roller Derby is excited to announce the league's tentative schedule for the next couple of months! Changes will be posted to social media as events may change due to availability and weather. This is going to be a kickass season of Hawai‘i roller derby!

Every Tuesday Evening: The Weekly Skate Meetup

Get your almost-midweek skate on with a family-friendly all-ages skate meetup at the Patsy Mink Central Oʻahu Regional Park! Hosted by the Rainbow Rollers, this meetup happens from 6:30pm-9:30pm and is open to skaters of all ages and skill levels from all over the island. Various Dates: RollerPole Class at Fit for a Goddess

Grab your indoor skates and turn on the disco lights! Fit For A Goddess is excited to invite you to PolerSkating! Led by instructor/choreographer Brandie Markos, the class will focus on skating forwards, backwards, side surfing, and pole spins. A small piece of choreography will taught so you can shake your groove thang and dance it out! All levels welcome, however a completion of a level 1 beginner pole series is encouraged. Bring your own skates, knee/elbow/ wrist pads. Classes are held at Fit For A Goddessʻ studio and start at 4:30pm on class dates.

Every Weekend: KIHA Public Skate

Come skate the only indoor roller rink on Oʻahu!

The Kapolei Inline Hockey Arenas open their doors every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for public skating. Visit their Public Skate website for the most up-to-date hours, entry fees, skate session times, rentals, and more information. Each session except for Sunday Adult Night is all-ages, so bring the keiki and make it a family evening out!
