October 12-13: Unity Jam Hawaiʻi

Hawaii's homegrown skate contest celebrating incredible local and worldwide skate talent is back, and it's going to be bigger than ever! The event will happen on Saturday, October 12-13, 2024, at Manana Skate Park in Aiea. Click here to get more details, register to compete, or sign up to volunteer.

 

Various Dates, Times, & Locations: CIB Oʻahu Skate Park Meetups

Skate park skaters! CIB Oʻahu hosts a series of meetups this month at various skate parks around Oahu. Whether you are an intermediate/advanced skater who wants to find a solid crew to skate and hang out with, or if you are new to skate parks and want to learn, join them for the experience. See the flyer above for dates, times, and locations! Free unless otherwise noted; all wheels, ages, genders, and skill levels are welcome!

  • Saturday October 12, 9am-6:30pm, Unity Jam Hawaiʻi Skate Park Competition
  • Sunday, October 13, 11am-7pm, Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park, Unity Jam Hawaiʻi Celebration & Potluck
  • Sunday, October 20, 9am-11am, Aliamanu Military Reservation (AMR) Skate Park. No military ID required. Costumes are encouraged!

 

October 20: Pink Da Rink

Join Sk8 Ambitions on October 20th for two amazing breast cancer awareness events!

  1. Family Skate: From 2pm-6pm, all ages are welcome! $20 pre-sale tickets include four hours of skating and a free door prize. Portions of the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
  2. Adult Skate Night: From 6pm-close, a themed event with exclusive shirts available on-site, while supplies last)!

Skate for a cause and show your support! Don’t forget to wear pink!

 

October 26: KIHA Halloween Costume Party

It's Spooky Season! Join KIHA Public Skating for an afternoon of all-ages family-friendly fun! Bring your own roller or inline skates, or rent a pair for only $5. Entry fee only $10. Costumes strongly encouraged!

 

October 27: Pacific Roller Derby Presents Pirates vs Ghosts

Pacific Roller Derby is stoked to announce their second to last home bout of the year, Pirates VS Ghosts! Please join PRD at this family friendly event at the Mililani Roller Hockey Rink for an afternoon of hard hitting skaters and fast action around the track. Rink side seating for those 18+! Our sister islands will also be joining us in a mashup for this game. Bring some shade, a cold beverage, and perhaps your favorite four legged friend!

 

November 3: 808 HI Rollers O'ahu and SkateIA present Learn To Skate!

Just got some new skates and want to learn how to use them? Already know how to somewhat roll forward but need help turning and stopping? Want to learn how to safely fall and get up? This beginners class is great for all ages and a good way to learn the basics of skating.

Classes are monthly at the covered parking lot at 340 Uluniu Street in Kailua. The next class is on November 3. This program is for skaters five years of age and older who are new to roller skating.

  • 3pm-4pm: Open Skate ($10 if you are only attending the Open Skate; free if you sign up for the group class)
  • 4pm-5pm: Learn to Skate Classes ($15 for the class, and includes the Open Skate for free)

November 8-11: Aloha Skate Mashup Roller Derby Tournament

Aloha Skate Roller Derby hosts the first ever "Draft" roller derby tournament in Hawaiʻi! The tournament will be held in Waimea on the Big Island and include skaters from all over the islands, across the country, and around the world! November 16-17: RocstaR Skate Tour Honolulu Workshops

Join Sk8 Ambitions for exciting workshops led by renowned pro skater and creator of Sk8rFit, Jedidiah Henderson ( @rocs_world on Instagram ). J-Roc has an impressive background, having worked as a choreographer for Disney’s show Saturdays. Additionally, he has been featured as a stunt double on the same show, showcasing his exceptional skills and versatility.

These workshops is designed for all skill levels, offering three different classes: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn from one of the best in the industry and take your skating to the next level!

November 23: Thanksgiving Slow Roll

In this season of gratitude as we give thanks for the great weather and the opportunity to skate here in our beautiful island home, join us for a slow roll through Kailua on Saturday, November 23. Meet at the shop at 4pm; we roll out at 4:30pm for an easy casual roll around some beautiful backroads on the Windward side. This is an all-ages rollout for all skill levels. Skate at your own risk; skaters should be comfortable stopping and skating on the street around light traffic.

 

Every Sunday Morning: Sunday Brunch Skate

Start your week with a nice relaxing brunch skate with a bunch of cool people! Hosted by sk8r.lisa , this meetup is free and open to all ages and skill levels. Whether you are a beginner just starting your skate journey, or an experienced skater wanting to learn some dance skate choreography to add to your "toolbox," this is a great meetup to take part in. Every Tuesday Evening: The Weekly Skate Meetup

Get your almost-midweek skate on with a family-friendly all-ages skate meetup at the Patsy Mink Central Oʻahu Regional Park! Hosted by Harmony Moses (sk8rbabe88 on Instagram), this meetup happens from 6pm-9pm and is open to skaters of all ages and skill levels from all over the island.

 

Every Weekend: KIHA Public Skate

Come skate the only indoor roller rink on Oʻahu!

The Kapolei Inline Hockey Arenas open their doors every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for public skating. Visit their Public Skate website for the most up-to-date hours, entry fees, skate session times, rentals, and more information. Each session except for Sunday Adult Night is all-ages, so bring the keiki and make it a family evening out!

 

Sunday evenings from 6pm-close are Adult Skate Night presented by Sk8 Ambitions. Leave the kids at home and come out for a night of 17+ fun!
