Various Dates, Times, & Locations: CIB Oʻahu Skate Park Meetups

Skate park skaters! CIB Oʻahu hosts a series of meetups this month at various skate parks around Oahu. Whether you are an intermediate/advanced skater who wants to find a solid crew to skate and hang out with, or if you are new to skate parks and want to learn, join them for the experience. See the flyer above for dates, times, and locations! Free unless otherwise noted; all wheels, ages, gender identities, and skill levels welcome!

  • Saturday, April 13, Sip & Street Skate with Ladies Who Skate. Meet at Island Brew House on University Avenue, 3pm
  • Sunday, April 14, Banzai Skate Park, 10am
  • Saturday, April 20, A'ala Skate Park, 10am
  • Saturday, April 27, Kamiloʻiki Skate Park, 9am

 

April 28: TRIKE WARS Championship Grand Prix: a fundraiser for Pacific Roller Derby

Support Honolulu's only roller derby team with a unique and unforgettable fundraiser! Pacific Roller Derby presents Trike Wars! Over the past few Sundays in April, up to 30 teams have competed in weekly heats leading up to the Championship Grand Prix race on April 28 at the Irish Rose Saloon in Waikiki! Free admission; go support your favorite drivers and pit crew, and win one of the many great raffle prizes!

 

May 4-5: 808 HI Rollers O'ahu and SkateIA present Learn To Skate!

Just got some new skates and want to learn how to use them? Already know how to somewhat roll forward but need help turning and stopping? Want to learn how to safely fall and get up? This beginners course is great for all ages and a good way to learn the basics of skating. Click here for more details and for instructions on how to register. Limited spots available.

  • Saturday, May 4, at Kamilo'iki Roller Hockey Rink in Hawai'i Kai (from the parking lot, go LEFT towards the roller hockey rink instead of right towards the skateboard park)
  • Sunday, May 5, at the covered parking lot at 340 Uluniu St (please park on-street; metered parking is free on Sundays)
  • Open Skate from 3pm-6pm
  • Learn to Skate Classes from 4pm-5pm and 5pm-6pm

May 11: Rainbow Rollers BBQ Beach & Roll

Calling all skate ʻohana! The Rainbow Rollers are hosting a monthly Beach BBQ and Skate every second Saturday of the month at Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park. Potluck style, bring a snack or food to share. Beach hang and eat during daylight, then skates come out after sunset. They will be there from 3pm-10pm but come on down whenever you are free. May 18: 808 HI Rollers O'ahu and Skate IA presents Open Skate!

808 HI Rollers Oʻahu and SkateIA present an open skate for all levels. This is an excellent way to practice the skills that you have been learning at the Learn to Skate classes or any skate classes that you are taking. Open Skate happens on Saturday, May 18, from 3pm-6pm at Kamilo'iki Roller Hockey Rink in Hawai'i Kai. If you are interested, click here for more details and for instructions on how to register.

May 23-27: Hot In The Shade Tour 2024

Skate Park Skaters! It's that time of year again! Presented by Aloha Blade Crew and El Jeffy, the Hot In The Shade (HITS) Tour is an annual trip for aggressive inline and skate park roller skaters to visit a neighbor island, enjoy a nice getaway around the Memorial Day weekend, and of course, play at the skate parks of that island! This year, the 2024 tour hits up the Garden Island of Kauaʻi! Details to come. Participation in the tour is free, but participants are responsible for arranging their own travel, transportation, airfare, food, and accommodations. October 12: Unity Jam Hawaiʻi

Hawaii's homegrown skate contest celebrating incredible local and worldwide skate talent is back, and it's going to be bigger than ever! Save the date NOW! The event will happen on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Manana Skate Park in Aiea. Details to come.

 

November 8-11: Aloha Skate Mashup Roller Derby Tournament

Aloha Skate Roller Derby hosts the first ever "Draft" roller derby tournament in Hawaiʻi! The tournament will be held in Waimea on the Big Island and include skaters from all over the islands, across the country, and around the world!Click here to be added on the mailing list. Every Thursday Evening: The Weekly Skate Meetup

Kickstart your roller skating weekend early on Thursday nights with a family-friendly all-ages skate meetup at the Patsy Mink Central Oʻahu Regional Park! Hosted by Harmony Moses (sk8rbabe88 on Instagram), this meetup happens from 6pm-9pm and is open to skaters of all ages and skill levels from all over the island.

 

Every Sunday Morning: Sunday Brunch Skate

Start your week with a nice relaxing brunch skate with a bunch of cool people! Hosted by sk8r.lisa , this meetup is free and open to all ages and skill levels. Whether you are a beginner just starting your skate journey, or an experienced skater wanting to learn some dance skate choreography to add to your "toolbox," this is a great meetup to take part in. Sundays: Junior Roller Derby

Pacific Roller Derby invites youth of all genders, ages 6-17, to learn a new sport and have fun doing it! Practices & scrimmages are on Sundays from 1:30pm-2:30pm at the Mililani Roller Hockey Rink. This is a great way to get your keiki to learn to skate, spend quality time outdoors with ʻohana, get some exercise, make new friends, and have fun at the same time. Every Weekend: KIHA Public Skate

Come skate the only indoor roller rink on Oʻahu!

The Kapolei Inline Hockey Arenas open their doors every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for public skating. Visit their Public Skate website for the most up-to-date hours, entry fees, skate session times, rentals, and more information. Each session except for Sunday Adult Night is all-ages, so bring the keiki and make it a family evening out!

 

Sunday evenings from 6pm-close are Adult Skate Night presented by Sk8 Ambitions. Leave the kids at home and come out for a night of 17+ fun!
