September 26: Skate Movie Night: Whip It
Join us for Skate Movie Night!
This month's film is Whip It, a 2009 comedy-drama film co-produced and directed by Drew Barrymore from a screenplay based on Shauna Cross' 2007 novel Derby Girl. The film stars Elliot Page as a teenage girl from a small fictional town in Texas, who joins a roller derby team. The film also stars Marcia Gay Harden, Kristen Wiig, Juliette Lewis, Jimmy Fallon, and Daniel Stern.

We will screen the movie at the skate shop on September 26 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. It's free and open to all ages. The film is rated PG-13.
Complimentary popcorn and bottled water will be available; BYO snacks. There will be two benches to sit on, and an area rug up front to lay on if you prefer. You can also bring your own comfy chair. Space is limited; come early to reserve your spot.
Future films and shows will range from lighthearted fantasies to serious documentaries, all with a connection to skating. We hope that you can join us!

Various Dates: RollerPole Class at Fit for a Goddess
Grab your indoor skates and turn on the disco lights! Fit For A Goddess is excited to invite you to PolerSkating! Led by instructor/choreographer Brandie Markos, the class will focus on skating forwards, backwards, side surfing, and pole spins. A small piece of choreography will taught so you can shake your groove thang and dance it out! All levels welcome, however a completion of a level 1 beginner pole series is encouraged. Bring your own skates, knee/elbow/ wrist pads. Classes are held at Fit For A Goddessʻ studio and start at 4:30pm on class dates.

September 27: CIB Oʻahu Skate Park Meetup
Skate park skaters! CIB Oʻahu hosts a series of meetups this month at various skate parks around Oʻahu. Whether you are an intermediate/advanced skater who wants to find a solid crew to skate and hang out with, or if you are new to skate parks and want to learn, join them for the experience. The final meetup this month will be this Sunday, September 27, at starting at 10am at Mililani Skate Park. It's a rodeo theme, so come skate in your favorite cowboy/cowgirl/cowfolx fit! The meetup is free, and all wheels, gender identities, and skill levels are welcome!
October 4: Roller Derby Doubleheader
Join Pacific Roller Derby for the last home game of the season! It’s a BIG one! Heart’s Delight Roller Derby is coming all the way from San Jose, California, to play in an early afternoon double header! Make your way to Palolo Elementary School on Sunday, October 4, starting at 2pm, for a bout day that you don’t want to miss! Stick around for the Halloween mixer, which is always a fan favorite! This year the theme is Princesses VS Witches! Bring a chair and your favorite non-alcoholic beverage (please leave your pets at home) to the track for a few hours of hard hitting roller derby!
As with all local PRD bouts, this one is family-friendly with free admission and parking! Get there early to reserve your space. Can't be there in person? Stream all of the action online on Twitch.
October 30-31: Halloween Skate Weekend
It's a thriller Halloween weekend at KIHA Public Skate! The rink will be open October 30–31 with costumes, games, and prizes!
On October 30, Sk8 Ambitions hosts the Friday Night Takeover from 8pm-11pm. Costume contest begins at 9pm, with prizes for scariest costume, funniest costume, and most creative costume.
On Halloween, the all-ages session from 6pm-8pm will also have a costume contest at 7pm, with prizes for scariest costume, most creative costume, and most enchanting costume.
Solo, couple and group costumes are all welcome to enter! Start planning those costumes now!

Every Sunday Morning: Sunday Brunch Skate

Sunday evenings from 6pm-close are Adult Skate Night at KIHA Public Skate, presented by Sk8 Ambitions. Leave the kids at home and come out for a night of 17+ fun!
Every Sunday Evening: Adult Skate Classes by Sk8 Ambitions
It’s never too late to learn new things. Sk8 Ambitions presents Adult skate classes, with each week learning and working on a new skill. Hosted by the Rainbow Rollers, this meetup happens from 6:30pm-9:30pm and is open to skaters of all ages and skill levels from all over the island. Every Friday Night: Friday Night Takeovers
Y’all wanted Fridays...so let’s build Fridays. Friday Night Takeovers is officially in motion. Same public session, different energy. Sk8 Ambitions brings you a new all-ages skate party, happening every Friday night at KIHA Public Skate. Each week is a different theme with a soundtrack curated by DJ Fabo and special guests. 8pm-11pm, $10 admission, $7 skate rental, all ages welcome.

Come skate the only indoor roller rink on Oʻahu!
The Kapolei Inline Hockey Arenas open their doors every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for public skating. Each session except for Sunday Adult Night is all-ages, so bring the keiki and make it a family evening out!
